Duties:  Maintained the diverse garden through weeding, irrigating, mulching, deadheading, pinching back, pruning, etc.  Helped to set up and repair irrigation for use in summer.  Additionally, I am working on under the Ohio Master Gardener’s state coordinator on making pamphlets and handouts that will be present at the garden during the 3 day Ohio Farm Science Review from Sept. 14-16. I will also be on hand during the Review to answer visitor’s questions.  The Garden includes a butterfly garden, naturally prairie area, ornamental grass display, and a small orchard amongst other garden displays.

Duties:  Worked in the shipping department of a perennial an herb nursery.  Primary duties were to transport plants from the greenhouses to the shipping department, clean them by removing dead material and weeds, as well as checking tags before loading the flats onto racks.  Also helped in consolidation of greenhouses and removal of plastic from greenhouse roofs.

Duties:  Watered research plants, swept floors, washed pots. Also helped in preparation of experiment concerning grapevines by washing and trimming roots to promote plant juvenility.

Duties: Was involved in trimming, digging and cutting of the operations over 200,000 Christmas trees. Species included scotch and white pine, Colorado and Norway spruce, Frazier, Canaan, and Douglas firs. Also was involved in grounds maintenance of the associated store and gardens, which included mowing, weed eating, and weed pulling. Also helped lay a brick driveway, painted, moved furniture in furniture part of business and various other maintenance tasks.
